Middle blocker Jung Dae-young is the oldest player in the V League at 42 years old. However, she remains competitive alongside her juniors. She returned to the GS Caltex Seoul Kixx this season. Her teammates look for her for stability and quality. In addition, her stats show she is a force to be reckoned with on the volleyball court.
Jung helped Kixx win 3-0 against Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate on November 3 by stopping Yang Hyo-Jin’s attacks and scoring multiple aces.
According to sports news reports, Jung’s defensive abilities have consistently produced positive results. Because of her contributions, Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi-Pass won the title in 2014 and again in April of this year.
Oldest Player in the V League
On and off the court, Jung’s influence has hardly diminished this year. Players in their twenties dominate Kixx’s roster, but the defense has been steady thanks to Jung’s contributions. The Kixx have won six of their first eight games and are now in second position in the seven-team standings as of November 15.
According to online sports betting reports, teammate and leading scorer, Gyselle Silva benefited from Jung’s example when she returned to play after having her baby. In 2010, Jung became a mother. However, she did not let that stop her from playing volleyball professionally.
With the benefit of her previous seasons’ experience, Jung may be able to steer her team to victory this year. The Kixx have lost twice thus far, against the Heungkuk Life Insurance Pink Spiders and the Gwangju AI Peppers. However, on November 14, the Kixx defeated the Daejon Jung Kwang Jang Red Sparks by a score of 3-0.
The capital side may win the league title for the first time since the 2020-21 season when they also won the KOVO Cup, the league title, and the championship. The KOVO Cup is a preseason event where all seven V League clubs play. The sports betting odds are in favor of Kixx this year.
